根據CS制造商Valve官方網站表示：
今日黑客們根據CS1.5的C++ library漏洞，查出CS1系統（即1.0-1.6版本)的重要破綻，研究出一款最新病毒，可內置在CS客戶端中，當進入服務器后，CS會在游戲中偷偷上傳病毒到服務器的HLDS.exe中。而HLDS.exe只是一個普通exe程序，入侵后，立即能在服務器本體主機中制造多達4000個不同名字的垃圾文件，而每個文件的容量是2048KB(2MB)，直接能使服務器本機崩潰。當其他客戶端在受感染的服務器，將會大概以BT的形式分享，就是進入一服務器后，將會全數玩家受感染，再傳播到其他服務器。目前他們正在制造最新的CS更新，據說最新版本的FPS以及運行性比CS Pro還要好，并且同樣兼容中文名字。
