I'm not sure how it realy goes, but i think it's like this:
How to do:
Strafe in the direction of the surf-wall while ducked @ the same time when touching the ground.
How engine works (thinks):
It works the same principle as in jumpbug. When you are 4 units above the ground engine teleports you down. Now if nearby there is a slide-wall & your velocity will push you in it, then exactly the same moment as engine will teleport you down, you'll slide up the wall a bit, so your vertical velocity will be higher then 0 (up), what brings us a result, that engine dosn't detect you touching the ground, cuz teleport to ground & slide up goes in the same moment (jumpbug principle).
P.S. The more horizontal slide wall is - the easier to do this technique. I wold say that it can be easyer then edgebug.
