AXN
A metamod-plugin (Ask on #KZmaps or our forums if you are unsure how to use this) which makes it possible to bhop (Bunnyhop) without slowing the speed down when hitting ground after jumping and gives extra speed while jumping. This plugin is used only in specific bhop-maps and not in ordinary jumping maps. This cannot be used when recording demos for publishing.
Bhop-script
An unsportsmanlike attachment for jumping, the use of which in some kz circles is punishable. Many CS players often even think that bhopping is not anymore possible on default CS 1.6 servers without any additional binds or scripts. When publishing demos to websites, these will be checked by admins to detect the use of bhop scripts (Xtreme-Jumps use FPS-Death, their own creation). In the case of XJ, this will result in a permanent ban. Also using a bind containing a line "+jump;wait" is punishable.
Block-map
A jumping map which contains different levels from which one usually can't fall down to lower levels. These different levels contain various kinds of blocks and pipes and after getting through one, you can proceed to next, maybe harder level. An example of block-map ancestors include kz_man_terablock and kz_ep_gigablock_b01.
Bunnyhop, bunny, bhop, bh
Bhopping means constant jumping where hitting the ground results in no slow down in speed. It is a combination of two actions; jump and strafe. Jump, right strafe, jump, left strafe, jump, right strafe etc (read. Strafe). The result is a very bunny-like. A very important thing while bhopping is not to press W at the same time. To make the bhopping easier, +jump command is worth binding to mwheelup/down.
CFL
Climb For Life are a jumping group whose irc channel is on Quakenet at #kz.CFL. Also kz-maps made by CFL have a CFL-tag with them.
Checkpoint, CP
AMX's teleport-thing-plugin. With this command/tool you can save your present place in the map. Most people think that using checkpoints is for amateurs so they call the checkpoint users "noobs". "You use checkpoints because you can't jump without them and you will never learn if you continue using them." Maybe you will, maybe you won't. I see the checkpoints as a good utility to practice hard jumps. Some people like them, others don't. This could be a subject of an argument for a long time like "heavy sucks vs. rap sucks". In game and checkpoints are enabled, one can save a checkpoint by typing /cp or /checkpoint. To return to the saved checkpoint, you would type gocheck, /tp or /teleport. One shouldn't be close to wall before saving a checkpoint. (read. Stuck)
Climbtimer
An AMX plugin used on most jumping servers. It makes easier to take your map climbing times and doing records in the top 15. Note, however, you cannot use climbtimer when recording publishable demos - it's an offence. As an "extra" feature there is also top15 list for the advanced jumpers, no-block (read no-block) and autohealing. Autohealing recoups your energy after you lose some when falling, but be careful because it doesn't prevent you from dying. You can see the climbtimer menu by typing /menu.
Cup
A jumping contest, where people race each other in either 1v1 or team matches in a knockout tournament style. The roundtime is normally 5 minutes and the jumper who is further on the map when the time runs out is the winner. Cups can be found on many channels - #kzmaps, #kzmaps.fi, #kz.uk and #xtreme-jumps. If there is an admin around, they will start one and it will soon fill up as these can be very popular.
Custom maps
Maps which are not accepted as official kz-maps and thus not given the kz_ tag are known as Custom Maps. Maps are judged by the official community. Existing tags are for example sn_, kzno_, cg_ etc. Being unofficial doesn't mean that the map would be bad, although some people have been known not to want the kz_ tag.
Double duck
Double ducking. This is performed when two (2) quick sequential +duck commands take place. Double duck makes it possible to run over a small barrier without losing any speed. The easiest way to perform double duck is to bind +duck to mwheelup/down.
Double strafe
Two strafes are performed in the air. (read. Strafe)
Duckjump
This jump is worth doing when player's head is hitting the ceiling. To do a duckjump a player has to press +jump and +duck at the same time. (read. Terajump). You can test your skills on duckjump in the end of clintmo_pentablock.
Edge-bug
This is one of the HL1-engine's "extra features". After falling (no matter how high) the player doesn't lose any energy at all if they land right on the edge's corner. This feature is performed when using shortcuts in a few maps. (for example kz_ep_gigablock_b01)
FPS-Death
A program developed by XJ crew, with which all kinds of interesting information be revealed from demos. By judging this information, it is possible to tell if the submitter has used any form of cheats like bhop. There is an light version available for everyone on this website as only XJ crew have the full version.
Gravity
In some maps there are tiny holes from where you can't get out if you manage to get yourself in there. In these situations usually the best way to get out is to type "kill" in console because asking for gravity is mostly useless and an admin won't give it to you, because in busy servers, everyone will either take advantage or complain. All the official kzmaps are beatable with normal gravity so using smaller than "800" gravity is entirely stupid.
Hammer
Valve Hammer Editor (used to be Worldcraft). A map editor. Most of the maps for Counter-Strike and other games made with HL1-engine are made with this editor, and it's free.
HP-Machine, "Walk under to get 10 000 hp"
An Energy-machine. By walking under/through this machine you get 10 000 hp (in some maps there are buttons for this). After getting these additional energy points your energy-meter is something between 0-255. Don't worry though, as you actually have 10 000 hp. CS-HUD just simply can not show more than 255. When the meter goes to zero (0) it starts a new round. ONLY press the button once. Don't mess about with that thing and wait for Xmas because the sound which comes from the machine is VERY annoying.

A game server sponsored by Pelikaista. There are 16+1 jumping slots. (195.12.56.123:27015). This is one of our Finnish counterparts servers.
Kreedz, Kz
The tag for kz-maps is kz_. The abbreviation comes from the creator and father of kz-maps - Kreedz. Kreedz's homepage is -link-
Kz_multiplugin
An AMX pluginwhich is made for jumping. It includes checkpoints, autoheal, rope, auto-scout and some other stuff.
Kzfi
Finnish jumping community, kzmaps.fi. Irc channel is on Qnet #kzmaps.fi (http://kzmapsfi.net).
Kzfr
French jumping community. The tag in maps made by french people is usually kzfr. (kz_kzfr_themap). Irc channel is on Qnet and is called #kzfr (http://kzfr.net)
Kz-ladder
Some time ago was a little craze to jump in a ladder and challenge each other to jump. Inactive nowadays. (http://www.gamebase.fi/ladderrules.php?id=kzmaps)
kzmaps
The original community for kz maps. Dec 2006 they reformed under kzmaps original founders kz`maxeh and kz`MC-Sk8r. They can be found at #kzmaps and at -Link- . They were the first ever kz maps community outside of Kreedz' s one and they worked hard to build kz maps up to a well known map type.
Kzmod
Jumping mod made for HL2-engine. Has nothing to do with CS 1.6. Kzmod is not based on cs:s unlike the CS-jumping maps which are based on HL1-engine and it has unfortunately stopped development. (http://www.kzmod.com)

Longjump, Lj
Longer than normal jump. There is no knowing how far one can jump without the use of strafing - Altsich and FikoN have both reached about 214/215 (See Unit). This jump is performed by doing two or more strafes.
Minimap
In most maps, generally near the end, are small areas unrelated to the actual main part of the map, where players can just have a bit of fun and kill some time. The map may be a new jump dimension or just a longjump map. A good minimap brings more colour to a grey assembly line map.
Multistrafe
Where three or more strafes are performed in the air.
No-block
A feature included in climbtimer which makes possible to go through other players. This feature removes the possibility to boost other players over high objects.
Noobstrafe
A strafejump, unlike normal jump, is where the player presses W and D at the same time when strafing to right and W and A when strafing to left. This way of jumping is considered noob and some people are able to do this jump nicely and some people just can't.
Nuke-jump (little rock, big rock)
When people are talking about "nuke-jump" they mean whether the jump from terrorist roof to the little rock, or the jump to big rock.
O4F-Jumping
A community which includes people from all over the world.
Pre-strafe
It's a strafe which is performed before the actual jump. In stead of pressing just W and running straight forward, we press for example W and D and smoothly move mouse to right. This is a very important part of longjumps.
Raparperi`, Rapsu
Raparperi is a "male goddess" (according to either himself or KniL ) who has made a couple of kz-maps and he wrote this kz-wiki.
Scout
Scout is a snipergun which has some magic powers in kz. It increases players' speed 4% compared to knife. It may not seem to be a big deal, but it helps a lot. So in official records using scout is forbidden. On servers people usually can use scout if they want to, but on on kzfi's servers using scout will disable the time counting.
Shortcut, SC
Almost each and every map includes at least one shortcut. The king of shortcuts is kz_px_eaglecliff which includes near to 10 shortcuts. A map without shortcuts is like a pizza without any cheese!
Soulfather, SF
He is a person who runs the whole kzmodthing (read kzmod). He has also made quite a few kz-maps.
Spec, "How can i spectate?"
On servers which have climbtimer on (read climbtimer), auto-respawn gives a player a new spawn right after he dies. On this way one can't spectate other players. To be able to spectate you have to do following things: Type /menu to chat and a menu appears and then press number 5 which switches the auto-respawn off. After doing this you just kill yourself (in game, not in real life). And when you get tired of spectating, just get back into the game.
Strafe
In the air, for example when turning right, you press D and move mouse smoothly to right. This action makes the player to turn right. Do NOT press W (or whatever you have bound +forward). In addition to this you must not press +duck in the air because it makes turning more difficult. Strafing accelerates player's speed a little bit. Strafing is used in longjumps (read longjump).
Stuck
When using checkpoints (read checkpoint) people get stuck in to walls because they save a checkpoint too close to a wall. On some servers there may be /stuck command which may help by getting the player to an earlier checkpoint. If this point is also too close to wall, may GOD HELP YOU OUT! You can't be released and you'll go to climbing hell. Just open the console and type kill.
Surf
CS-Surfing! When the flat of a block is at a gradient of more than 45º, a player can't walk on it. In this case you can surf along it with a very high speed. If this block is to the left of you, just press A and with moving mouse you can make yourself slide. You must not press +duck because this makes you drop. There are surfing parts in some maps and there are now some maps just for surfing have been made too.
Tera-jump
When speaking of "tera-jump", people usually mean the last level of kz_man_terablock. There is a really annoying duckjump which may have been the main reason for some peoples nervous breakdown. This jump can be found in de_prodigy too.
Timer
A TIME MACHINE! Unfortunately you can't travel to meet dinosaurs but you can test your speed in jumping maps. This ain't the same thing as climbtimer. This thing is compiled with the map, the map's own time calculator. You can start the timer by pressing "start" button in the beginning of the map and stop by hitting the "stop".
Unit
This is a measure of distance, like centimetres and feet. The distance between 2 blocks is marked with a unit.
Wallbug
When a player moves along a wall which is not fully vertical or horizontal, the journey may stop occasionally.
Yöhypyt
Nightjumps in English. They are Finnish night jumper maniacs who take over the Finnish jumping server in the night. They use #yöhypyt -tag which is an irc channel too.
