iiN got busted This week, Chinese player iiN has been caught using a slow-motion cheat in his recently world record demos.
本周，中国玩家iiN在他的wr demo中被查出使用slow-motio作弊
Using these cheats has given iiN an unfair advantage over other players and has lead to his 6 month ban (unable to access the site or submit any other demos) on www.Xtreme-Jumps.eu and the removal and replacement of all his demos.
使用作弊器给了iiN一个不公平的条件超越了其他玩家，然后 也让他领到了来自xj的6个月的禁封，并且取消了他所有的demo纪录。
Suspicion arose over the past week after various players and administrators’ analysed iiN’s demos and found fault in the cleanliness of his play style.

Fortunately after much analysis from demo/coding guru, eDark, he was able to detect and confirm that some sort of slow-motion program had been used in the creation of iiN’s demos.

As you can see chrizZo was referred to in this statement, having been one of the prime people in catching out iiN's cheating, I gathered a bit of information about chrizZo's thoughts and his take on the situation.

Lagster: When did you first find iiN's demos to be suspicious?
问：你第一次发现iiN的demo不正常是什么时候？
chrizZo: The first time he was suspicious was when I saw his KZls_smile demo or something. He went too fast through the map in my eyes. I asked myself if he really got this skills, why isn't he making much more world records. Then someone told me to watch an older demo on risk_treasure_islands. This demo was kinda obvious cheated.

Lagster: How do you think iiN got away with cheating for so long?

chrizZo: The point is that a slowmo hack is extremely hard to detect. Even with fps death it's not detectable in the most of the cases. So you always need the special check from eDark himself, which takes a lot of time. eDark isn't that active in the kreedz scene, so it was just a matter of time when eDark will do his job. Luckily it was right after the announcement that iiN will destroy me. Otherwise my records could have been beaten now.
People are now talking about FoF as well and the same rules are counting there. eDark didn't check FoF personal, thats the only thing I can say about it.
For that misery we created our steamgroup "I only trust you if I can spec". Because thats the best way to proof that you are not using a slowmo cheat in my eyes.
答：关键就是slowmo是非常非常难被察觉的。甚至fps death这个工具没可能检测出来。所以你总是需要花很多时间从eDark那进行特殊的监测。eDark又不是老在，正好iiN说要把我打倒（eDark就帮他查了）。另外我的纪录现在确实还可刷。

Lagster: So it would be safe to say that if iiN had not been so obvious in his demos, we might not of caught him? Would you urge the community to stand up and speak out if they do suspect someone is cheating so we can catch more of them?
chrizZo: Thats the current thing we have to make clear in the community. There are two sides at the moment. The first side is saying something like :"Don't blame anyone to cheat without having a proof".
The other side is saying that this is needed to discover cheaters. I'm on the second side here.
The only reason why iiN got caught is because me and a lot of other people spoke out what they think. If this will end up in a warning in the future, we will probably end up in a cheat community. Thats my viewing of the things at the moment. Of course it isn't that great if you are suspected to be a slowmotion cheater, if you aren't. But the point is that it's sooooo easy to proof that you are not. Just go on a server and let people spectate, nothing is easier than that seriously. So I would kinda call it risk_management what we should do here.

Lagster: What do you think about iiN's statement? He said he hates you? Where did that come from.. ?

chrizZo: I think he hates me, because I did some old 007 records in one release. The people at SiMen got mad at me for doing that. Back in the days I helped him out with plugins via email. I don't know why this has changed that dramatically. But I think the word "hate" is way too personal for what he wants to say.
In my eyes his statement is more than weak. First of all, he said that he used the slowmo for beating my world records, because he hates me. Why did he use a slowmo in brickjump then? Thats not my record. The fact that he is telling that only two of his demos are cheated is a lie as well. eDark just checked those two demos. Back in the days he cheated with a bhop script and now he cheated with a slowmo hack. I don't know if he will try it in 6 months again. Anyways, I dislike the way he even said "good job" to me. Is he congratulating me for beating his cheated demo? Thats kinda sad isn't it? Well the topic iiN is closed for me, I'm over that now.

Lagster: Well i admire the fact that you, and others stood up and made this happen, no thanks to the abuse thrown around last week about this issue. Lastly, kill my curiosity and tell me what it feels like to BEAT a CHEATED demo?
chrizZo: Yea, it felt miserable to be honest. I saw his demo and it seemed to be unbeatable. How he moved throught the rooms was unbelieveable fast, because of his slowmo. It kinda pissed me off and made me sad at the same time. Since I knew that I lost two records of mine and I was scared to loose way more. It would have been a nightmare if he would have continued owning me. Since a lot of XJ admins agreed with me, seeing it as a fact that iiN was cheating, but they said they couldn't do anything without proofs. So I was kinda helpless in that situation. The best thing I could have made then was getting my world record back and so did I. In the end I didn't fear iiN anymore, since he has done a lot of normal "slowmo" mistakes, like failing easy bhops and so on. I knew that even if he would have battled me, I would be able to beat him. But now everything is different of course.
